As an educator, I brought my dedication to the students of Del Valle High School, home of the Cardinals. As the child of a retired veteran of two wars and having attended schools all over the United States, I know the importance of a quality education. As a husband and proud father, I know the importance of family first. Thus far, four of my six children have attended college, and one is in the military. I understand the importance of preparing students for life after high school.
With twenty-six years of experience in a variety of roles in education, I have developed a unique understanding of the various roles of campus personnel. My belief is that our students need a well-rounded educational experience, which I developed during my years as a college football coach and 6A head football coach. Those experiences demonstrated the importance of extra-curricular activities for our students. As a former university director, I developed a deep knowledge of college requirements enabling me to help our staff and students focus on college-readiness skills. As a former composite social studies teacher, I experienced the hard work of teachers in developing lessons, instruction and supportive relationships with students. Having successfully designed and implemented instructional plans for both high school and middle school, I understand the role of the campus instructional leader. These experiences have prepared me to work hard with the Del Valle High School family to continue the rich tradition of Del Valle High School’s success.
I believe in this district, the staff, faculty and students of Del Valle ISD. I am excited to lead Del Valle High School. Together, we (the staff, faculty and students of Del Valle High School) will work to help each person reach his/her maximum potential through education. Our campus goal is to prepare our students to excel. It is very important for us to help our community prosper through education. We will reach out to the community to build strong relationships. We believe that Del Valle High School belongs to the community as a whole, and we all have a stake in its success. Strong relations within our school, with community leaders, businesses and other groups will improve our students’ academic success and lives.
