Nurse's Office
Caroline Cervantes, RN
Greetings! My name is Caroline Cervantes, BSN, RN and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as one of the school nurses here at Del Valle High School. After working several years as a neurology, ortho, and MedSurg nurse, I joined the staff of Del Valle High School in 2020.
I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community where I am able to provide care to our students at DVHS. I am a PROUD soccer and Band mom, and currently reside locally in Austin with my husband, two children, and dog. In my free time, I love spending time with my family by going to the movies. We are AVID Harry Potter, Disney, and Marvel fans!
It is my daily goal here at DVHS to keep our children safe and healthy so that they may always be ready to learn. However, I know that it takes a village to care for our children so please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding your student. I am committed to working with you and your students to best figure out how to meet your needs.
Thank you all for welcoming me into your community and allowing me to take care of your students.

Tina Torres, RN
Hello, my name is Tina Torres, BSN, RN and I am starting my 5th year as a Nurse at Del Valle High School. I have been in the medical field for over 9 years. As a graduate of DVHS myself, I am very excited to be here!
A fun fact about me is that I used to coach baseball for several years. Kids that I once coached in t-ball are now adults and it is so amazing to see their growth.
During my time off, my favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my husband, kids, and friends. I enjoy coming out to the football field to watch my son play the Euphonium. He is a member of the famous and award winning Del Valle High School Band! When I am not cheering for our band, I spend time at the baseball fields cheering on my youngest son on the diamond. My youngest and only daughter enjoys dance and we love to see her perform. Needless to say, I am a very busy and proud mom!
Because I am a very busy parent myself, I understand that as parents, you too may be very busy at times. Nevertheless, I believe that it is a team effort and I am always here to support you in any way I can. Students must be healthy to be educated and educated to be healthy. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Leticia Zavalija, Health Assistant
Hi! My name is Leticia and I am excited to return for my 4th year as a Medical Assistant at Del Valle High School. I have been in the medical field for 17 years, and prior to working in a school setting I worked in a community clinic working with underserved residents of Austin and its surrounding areas.
I currently reside in Austin with my husband, our boys and our dog Lily. Spending quality time with family and friends is a value very close to me. Every opportunity I get, you will find me with my family or friends watching sports, traveling in our RV, eating good food, going to the movies or just enjoying each other's company. I also recently became a band mom and am very excited to be out on the field cheering on my son!
I look forward to another great year with our children, and educating them on promoting a safe healthy learning environment for all. Please know that we are taking every measure to ensure your students have a wonderful year in spite of the challenges we all face during these times.
