My name is Jana Ramchander and I am the Social Worker at Del Valle High school. I received my masters in social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India with a specialization in Family and Child Welfare. I am a Licensed Masters Social Worker with over 20 years of Social Work experience that span both domestic and international settings.
I have been working in schools for the last 15 years and am passionate about my work with students and families. My role at the DVHS campus includes providing mental health support to students, crisis management and community outreach.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, traveling, and enjoying long walks with my chocolate lab Watson! I am excited to be here and am looking forward to working with you.

Jordan Sanders, Social Worker
My name is Jordan Sanders and I am one of the campus social workers here at Del Valle High School. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California, Irvine and Masters of Social Work degree from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. I have experience working with children and families in a variety of settings. I am originally from Springfield, MO and relocated to the Austin area in August of 2022.
In my free time I love being outdoors and active as well as coaching youth sports and giving back to the community.

Amanda Cardona, 9th Grade Counselor (A-L)
Amanda Cardona is one of our ninth grade counselors who supports students with last names A-L. This will be her eighth year working as a counselor and sixth year serving as a counselor at DVHS. Before becoming a counselor Amanda was a sixth grade Special Education Math teacher and also coached seventh and eighth grade volleyball and track during her seven years serving as a teacher in Austin ISD.
Amanda’s favorite part of working with students at DVHS is getting to know her students and helping them with any challenges that may arise in their lives. Amanda knows that when students feel supported and have mentors alongside them they can gain success in the areas of social, emotional, and academic learning as well as in the area of career readiness.
Things that Amanda finds most important in her life is her faith, family, friends, her fur babies Ciara and Kobe and her students at DVHS. Weekend hobbies for Amanda include spending time with family, spending time with her dogs, nature, walks, cooking, home decorating and watching movies.

Angelina Garcia, 9th Grade Counselor (M-Z)
Angelina Garcia is an educator that is entering her sixth year in DVISD. She taught fourth and fifth grade at Creedmoor Elementary for five years before making the transition into the counselor role at DVHS. Angelina was the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year at Creedmoor, and one of her strengths is building solid relationships with her students and their families. She enjoys reading, beach camping, traveling, people watching, and playing with her two Schnauzer dogs.

Lola Higgins is a second year Counselor at DVHS. She has over 15 years of experience in education as a School Counselor and a Special Education Teacher.
She is passionate about working with children, identifying student needs and developing programming to ensure student success.
In her free time, Lola enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Amyna Dosani, 10th Grade Counselor (M-Z)
Amyna Dosani, M.Ed, is the 10th grade counselor (last name M-Z). This is her second year at DVHS and DVISD. Before that, she served in Austin ISD as a 12th grade counselor at Crockett High School and an intern at Bowie High School. Before moving to Austin for graduate school, she served in public schools in her hometown of Houston, TX as a bilingual and ESL teacher, substitute teacher, and tutor.
Ms. Dosani is a proud double Longhorn, earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Texas - Austin in 2013 and returning to UT - Austin to earn her Master of Education for School Counseling. She is passionate and committed to public education, advocacy, and supporting her students. For fun, she enjoys playing board games, poetry, and sharing memes and puns.

Eleyna Cavalli is a first year counselor, after teaching at DVHS for three years. She graduated from the University of Texas - Austin in 2020. Currently, she sponsors the Women's Empowerment Club at DVHS which focuses on educating, engaging, and empowering the students of DVHS in their community.

Andrea Ruedas is starting her 8 th year as a counselor at Del Valle High School. She was born and raised in Austin and graduated from Texas State University. She enjoys building relationships with her students and their families. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and attending concerts. She is excited to welcome a new batch of seniors!

Ms. Jackie Magness is starting her ninth year in counseling at DVHS. She graduated from UTSA with her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and from Texas A&M - San Antonio with her Master’s degree in School Counseling and Guidance. She is passionate about supporting students and helping them plan (and achieve in) their futures. In her spare time, Ms. Magness loves spending time with her AMAZING grandchildren, as well as the rest of her family.
